Joe Bonserio received a ticket for flying an altered American flag on his rented plot in the community garden at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. The $75 summons states that he was demonstrating without a permit by flying the altered version of the flag.

Students at Lafayette High School in Brooklyn held a walk-out from classes Thursday morning, May 23, 2011 in protest of school principal Jolanta Rohloff (center). According to students, the principal is planning on firing several well- liked teachers, changing test standards, cutting several classes and programs, and has already painted over a mural that students worked on for 6 months.
